A Week of Firsts

I grew up in rural North Carolina, but I’ve recently moved to Atlanta to work on a farm. How ironic? As I have helped out with the first week of farm camp, aka “Peace and Carrots Camp,” it has brought about many firsts for me. Along with the kids, I too held a chicken for the first time, and I watched the children gather eggs. We planted squash and zucchini together. We shared lots of laughs and healthy meals with each other. It was a week filled with fun, farming, and firsts for me. Lots of (dirty) hands-on experiences as well. I look forward to the weeks ahead!
